Current Bible Study and Fellowship Groups
Morningview offers a variety of Bible Study and Fellowship groups that meet every Sunday morning before corporate worship. We call these Bible Study and Fellowship groups because they are loosely organized around the life-stages of attenders and for most folks they tend become their closest relationships in the church family. You can discover a more about the current leadership and bible study focus of each our groups below.
This group is composed of young adults in college or just out of college and beginning a career, mostly singles, but some newly married couples. This group is led by Brandon Ash and Cody Floate and is currently studying through the book of Genesis. On Sunday mornings they can found in room 329.
This group consists mostly of married folks who are in their twenties and thirties. Most in the group have young children, but not all. Some are just having their first children. This group is led by teacher Martha Zieber. For bible study, they divide into men’s and women’s groups and are currently using “Explore the Bible” as their guide to scripture study. On Sunday mornings they can found in rooms 100, 102 and 103 on the first floor of our building.
The Fellowship Class
Unlike our other groups which tend to have folks of similar ages, this group is intentional multi-generational and includes adults from all stages of life. Just like our other bible study classes, this group also fosters deep relationships and care among its members. This group is led by Judd Hough and is currently studying through the book of Genesis. On Sunday mornings they can found on the first floor of our building in Armstrong Hall.
A new class in 2017, Systematic Theology is like the Fellowship Class in that it is composed of varying ages and life stages, and it is unique in that this class is studying Theology- the science that deals with all the facts that are knowable concerning God and His relations with the universe. Systematic Theology seeks to organize these facts in a logical manner in order to determine what the whole Bible teaches about any given topic and in so doing build a framework of essential doctrines that will allow the believer to form a thorough understanding of biblical teaching. Simply stated, it is the summation of what is taught by the relevant passages in the Bible on various topics so that we can know and profess what we believe about each one. The first quarter of Systematic Theology will specifically examine the Doctrine of the Bible and the Doctrine of God. This new class meets in Room 104.
Another new class in 2017 is our Ladies’ Class. Any and all ladies are welcome here! This class meets in the third-floor parlor (immediately to your right as you exit the south-end elevator). It is led by veteran Sunday school teacher and our “church mom,” Sarah Jones, and is also studying through Genesis.
