News and Events
Teaology ~ Ladies, please join us at 6pm this Thursday at the home of Loren Shirley as we enjoy tea and fellowship, and resume our study through the 1689 London Baptist Confession. This week we will be discussing chapters 13 (Sanctification) and possibly 14 (Saving Faith).
Fair Workers Breakfast ~ Please make plans to join us on October 12 and/or to contribute resources to this outreach! Once a year we serve a hot breakfast to the fair workers, many of whom travel the country with the fair. This is always an excellent opportunity to minister to spiritual and physical needs, and we need your help:
* Leave travel-size toiletry items in the collection buckets at church.
* Donate breakfast items or sign up to volunteer via the Sign-Up Genius link in the Facebook group (www.signupgenius.com/go/70a0a4aaeaf28a2f49-fair).
* Designate your giving, “Fair Outreach.”
* Join us at the fairgrounds on October 12 to serve breakfast and share the good news of Christ!
Morningview Elementary School Outreach ~ Monday, October 14, is a teacher in-service day at Morningview Elementary School and we would like to provide a meal for the teachers. Please plan to be a part of serving Morningview Elementary and be on the lookout for more details regarding needs for this outreach!
Capitol Heights Middle School Outreach ~ We finally have new inroads this year along with Gateway Baptist Church to Capitol Heights Middle School! We are excited to begin organizing volunteers from Morningview to help lead morning Bible Study at the school, and to help provide an occasional pregame breakfast and devotion for their football team. Our goal is to build real mentoring relationships with students and point them to Christ. Contact Brandon Ash at 334-320-9443 if you would like to help serve in this ministry.
Foster & Adoptive Family Ministry ~ Anyone who can pray, cook one meal a month, or offer occasional childcare is the perfect person to be part of a Care Community ministering to families who foster or adopt. Contact Amy Dandridge if you would like to learn more about our Family Promise Ministry and what a Care Community is: 334-224-9546, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Annual Church Picnic ~ Please make plans now to join us on the afternoon of October 13th at Lagoon Park for our annual Church Picnic with Strong Tower and Reformation Baptist Church! Hamburgers, hotdogs, and sides will be served ($4/adult, $2/child, $15 family max), and we will worship together in Peterson Lodge after supper. (No evening services at the church.) Everyone, bring a dessert (pre-cut, please!) and drink to share!
2019 Global Missions Conference ~ Mark Your Calendars: October 27-30.
Youth Fellowship ~ 7th-12th graders! Please join us at the home of Pastor Jon English and Miss Rebekah Lee on Friday, November 1, 6-9pm. There will be a bonfire and capture the flag will be played!
