Families Count ~ If you are interested in becoming a mentor and/or transporter for Families Count attendees, or if you want to learn more first, come to the required training this Saturday, December 7, 10am-1:30pm in the room across from the chapel. Lunch will be provided. Attending the training does not obligate you to serve! Please let us know if you would like to attend so we can be prepared for lunch: call or email Sonia Martin at 503-367-0700, You can also contact Sonia if you have any questions. Families Count is a state-approved 6-week biblically based parent education ministry that Morningview will host beginning Wednesday nights in January. It is for parents who are working towards reunification with their children in foster care. Go to to learn more! Parents attending the class have the opportunity, if they choose, to have mentors and/or transporters assigned to them, and we need Morningview members to fill those roles! (Mentors/Transporters do not attend the Families Count class.)

DHR T.I.P.S. Course ~ The TIPS Course (required to foster or to provide respite care) will be held at Morningview January- March. More details to come. Please pray about becoming a foster family or a family that can provide respite care for fostering families.

Hands of Christ Toy Store ~ Toy collection buckets are out at church now! Please consider giving new unwrapped toys, funds, or your time to help! The store is for shoppers who qualify to purchase deeply discounted Christmas gifts for their children. You can designate giving “HOC Toy Store.” If you would like to volunteer to help set up or work the store call Rebecca at 334-262-6438. Set-up day is Dec. 9, and the store will be open to shoppers Dec. 10 & 12.

Christmas Celebration ~ Please plan to join us Sunday evening, December 15, beginning at 5pm in the sanctuary for our annual Christmas Celebration! We will also enjoy a time of fellowship at a reception in Fellowship Hall immediately following the service. Look for a reception food sign-up list soon! We will need your help with finger sandwiches, cheese and cracker trays, fruit, cookies, etc.

Awana ~ Parents, make sure your Sparks and T&T clubbers bring their shares December 11 so they can shop the first Awana store of the year. The store will be stocked with great Christmas gifts for siblings, friends, parents, and grandparents!

Youth Christmas Party ~ 6-12th graders, join us Friday, December 13, at the Portis’ home (8400 Waterford Park Blvd. Montgomery) 6-9pm. Wear your ugliest ugly Christmas sweater and bring a gift ($15 max) for the Dirty Santa Gift Exchange. Guys bring a savory snack, and girls bring a sweet snack.

Teaology ~ Ladies, our monthly study through the 1689 London Baptist Confession and fellowship at Loren Shirley’s will take a break through the holidays, and resume in January.

End-of-Year Giving Reminder ~ In order to count your giving on your 2019 contribution statement, all gifts to the church must be received in the Church Office no later than December 31, or they must be postmarked no later than December 31. All contributions received on or after January 1, will count toward 2020 unless postmarked for 2019.
