Last year, just after disembarking from a particular boat ride at Walt Disney World, my then 7 year old son John David asked me, “Daddy, there aren’t really any pirates, are there?”  In the next few minutes, we had a (more…)

It is good to finally be here and have my feet on the ground. It is even better to be part of the Morningview family. As part of that family, I am excited about the opportunity to get to know each and every one of you better. I am proud of how you guys have held things together during the interim, and am encouraged by your openness to change. Randy had long and (more…)

  • In These Last Days, What of National Israel?

  • Southern Seminary Dinner

by Shawn Merithew on February 8, 2011

As you know, all four of your staff pastors are graduates of Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.  By God’s grace, this institution has helped to shape and equip us as faithful ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Dr. Al Mohler, the President of Southern, will be hosting a dinner on Friday evening, February 18th at 7:00 pm at the Alabama Activity Center on Dexter Avenue.  He will be sharing about the mission and work of Southern Seminary to help build friendships and partnerships in the Montgomery area.  The dinner is free, so if you would like to be a part of it, please call the Office of Institutional Advancement at Southern (502-897-4142) or email Rhetta Draper at rdraper@sbts.edu to make your reservation.  It would be wonderful to see Morningview Baptist Church well-represented at this event.  I hope to see you there!   –Pastor Shawn
