In the Presence of My Enemies
At this point in the narrative, David's oldest surviving son, Absalom, has been successful in staging a coup. David, along with the rest of the family and his mighty men, have decided to flee Jerusalem to avoid a bloody battle that would kill many innocents. While fleeing, David is approached by a Flattering Opportunist and a Cursing Activist, yet in his response, he manifests faith in one profound truth: whatever God ordains is right.
