Our Mission

We believe in a big God who has a big plan for the universe.

From the words “In the beginning” all the way through to its final verses, the Bible presents to us one story with one message and one champion. The Bible tells us this story that begins and ends with a great, glorious and gracious Creator God. He is the main character. He is the hero. The story of our world is His story.

Of course, we have a part in this story as well. Though God created the universe in perfection, because of sin there is now brokenness and pain where originally there was wholeness and joy.  The message of the Bible is that the God who created us all knew that our world be broken, but from that brokenness, He would redeem a people for Himself and eventually restore the universe to a greater glory than it ever knew before.

To redeem broken people and bring them into the joy of His story, God offers them the highest and greatest gift in the universe.  He offers them Himself in the person, life, death, and resurrection of His own son, Jesus Christ. This is the message of the Bible. It is that God offers broken people new life and restoration through Jesus.

Those who embrace this good news, committing their lives to Jesus, are referred to in the Bible as the “Bride” of Christ.  They are what God calls “the church” and their mission is His mission.

Our mission at Morningview is the same. We are a gathered body of local believers in Christ who believe that God Himself is the greatest treasure in the universe and that knowing Him is the greatest joy and greatest good that any person can ever find. We believe that the most loving thing that we can do for other broken and lost and people is to introduce them to the God who created them and has made a way for them to be whole again and restored through the person of Jesus Christ.

Jesus himself, when asked what the greatest commandment was, answered by saying:

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:30-31)

For the glory of God and for the good of all humanity, this is our mission.
