Message: “A Bitter Triumph” from Shawn Merithew

Ever since chapter 12, we have been watching the ripple effects of David's adultery and murder unfold. He has already lost two sons, and his fatherly indulgence and passivity have resulted in his 3rd son usurping his reign, driving him from the kingdom of Israel, and now leading an Israelite army whose sole ambition is to put David to death. But by God's sovereign hand, the final result is the safety of David's kingdom being secured through the death of his son.
