By this point in John 17, Jesus is praying for everyone who will come to faith through the preaching and teaching of His disciples. But as He does that, it is with a particular interest. As He rejoices in the unity and love He has with the Father, He prays for the unity and love of His people, which will then serve as evidence to those yet to be saved that He is the Savior sent from God.
