There are many events we can face in this life that forever alter our course: the loss of a loved one, the birth of a child, a cancer diagnosis, or a near-death experience are some examples. But the one thing in all of human experience that affects us and changes us more than any other is when we are brought face-to-face with God's holiness, our sinfulness, and the transformative power of Christ. That is what we see Peter experience in the text before us today.
