A message from the series “Sermons.” As we grow up, we all learn to read different signs – relational signs, signs of the weather, investment and business signs, etc. But it is amazing how in our sinfulness, we can be willfully ignorant to very clear spiritual signs. As we wrap up exploring Jesus’ end times discourse in Luke, we find His strongest admonition yet for His people to be focused on spiritual realities and ready for His return. We are to understand the signs of the times and be on alert for His return.

Unbelievers need to flee from the wrath to come, and believers can live for His glory with the assurance that Christ will accomplish our final redemption.

So Christ takes the opportunity to remind them that the things of this world so admired by men (like the Temple!) are only temporary and will be consumed in judgment.
