The Intercession of Moses
The people of Israel are in open idolatry and rebellion against God at the base of Mt. Sinai. God’s wrath is kindled against them and He reveals His intentions to Moses. He does so to challenge Moses to take up his role as the mediator of Israel, which Moses does, appealing to God and interceding for the people as a type of Christ.
