The Pleasure of the Lord
Following the death of Uzzah for touching the ark of the Lord, the parallel passage in 1 Chronicles 15 tells us that David consulted with the priests and the Scriptures to learn the proper way to convey the ark of the Lord to Jerusalem. Thus, on his second attempt, he was able to bring up the Lord's ark with great reverence and celebration in Israel. Yet not everyone responded with joy as David did. In his own household, he was met with pride and criticism. In this sermon, we will explore the subject of Christian joy in contrast with worldly criticism.
