The Triumphs of God's King

Second Samuel 8 is an important precursors in our redemptive history. As we behold God giving David victory over his enemies on every side, we are meant to see that God's kingdom promised in chapter 7 did come on earth with God's blessing under David's leadership in chapter 8. This text describes what will always be true when God's kingdom is established, so this is a preview of what is yet to come in fuller form.
