Covenant Grace to Mephibosheth

In this chapter, we see David now seeking to fulfill the covenant he made with Jonathan years before. He inquires if there is anyone left from the house of Saul that he may bless with the kindness of the Lord, and he finds that Jonathan's crippled son, Mephibosheth, is still alive. In this passage, we see an embodiment of the gospel that is so clear as we consider how David is indeed a type of Christ actively in keeping his covenant.
