Luke: Thy Kingdom Come

Shawn Merithew - September 15, 2019

The Kindness of the Lord

In chapter 9, we see David striving to bless and extend grace to the sons of the covenant, exemplified by Mephibosheth, and now in chapter 10, we see him striving to bless and extend grace to those outside the covenant of Israel, exemplified by Hanun. But as pagans, they had no framework to understand that David might sincerely embody the compassion and kindness of YAHWEH. The result was war, but we also see the amazing truths of God's kindness, goodness, and love.
