WHAT ARE YOUR WORSHIP SERVICES LIKE?
Children: We do have childcare available for babies up to 3-year-olds during Sunday Worship, but please know that we also welcome children in our worship services! We are blessed with many children at Morningview, so everyone is accustomed to the sight (and sounds) of little ones in the sanctuary. We provide printed children’s activity bulletins each Sunday morning that are geared for children 4 and up.
Music: We sing both timeless hymns of the faith and contemporary songs that are Christ-centric and theologically sound. We have a sanctuary choir to aid in the leading of congregational singing. Our worship music includes instrumentation such as piano, guitar, drums, and violin.
Prayer: Pastors and deacons will lead times of prayer during our worship service. You will never be called upon or expected to pray out loud.
Sermon: Our pastors exposit the word of God from the pulpit, meaning, in short, that they preach verse-by-verse through a book of the Bible or passage of Scripture, being careful to expose all of God’s word to us, and us to it.
Communion: We observe the Lords Supper every Sunday alternating between morning and evening services. If you have united with Christ in faith and been baptized, and are a member of a Bible-believing church, we welcome you to partake in the Lord’s Supper with us.
Offertory: We always have a time of giving during our worship service, but this is primarily for our members. As a visitor, you should feel no obligation to give money during the offertory time.
WHAT WILL MY FIRST VISIT BE LIKE?
If you are visiting for the first time, we hope you will feel welcomed. Many of our members make it a point to meet and welcome visitors, but you will never be singled out, asked to stand and be recognized, or otherwise made uncomfortable in front of our congregation. If, upon your visit, you have any questions about Morningview, the Bible, or Faith in Christ, please feel free to speak to any of our pastors. We would love to serve you and get to know you.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO WORSHIP SERVICES?
Gathering to worship The Lord with His assembled people on His Day should be done with humility and reverence. Of course, humility and reverence are postures of the heart and not functions of our wardrobe. At Morningview you will see a range of dress- Some express their reverence by dressing more formally while others express that same heart through simplicity. Please don’t let this be a worry or hindrance for you. We would love to have you worship our Lord with us.
WHAT ABOUT MY CHILDREN?
We really can’t understate how important children are to us. We believe they are, each one, a precious gift from God to be treasured, cherished, protected and nurtured in His truth and love. For your youngest children, we have a clean and safe nursery staffed by a team of trustworthy caregivers. For all of your school aged-children we have a variety of exciting teaching and ministry events that they will love. In all our children’s ministries and events, we promise that your children will learn about the Bible and the God who wrote it and loves them even more than we ever could.
CAN I VISIT MORNINGVIEW BESIDES, OR IN ADDITION TO, SUNDAY MORNINGS?
Please do! In addition to Sunday Morning Worship at 10:30, we meet at 5:30 on Sunday evenings to end The Lord’s Day in worship. We also meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:30 for Adult Prayer & Bible Study and Youth Worship (7th-12 grade). Children age 2 through 6th grade participate in our Children’s Discipleship program called G321. Our sanctuary choir members also meet during this time frame to rehearse. Nursery care is available
HOW CAN I MEET OTHERS AND GET CONNECTED?
For now, as we are still phasing back into some of our small group fellowships which are typically the best avenues to meet people and get plugged in, the best way to get connected is to make sure we know you’re here! Please fill out a blue visitor card from our pew racks, or even email [email protected] and let us know you’re coming! Please include your phone number and email address. Please allow our pastors the opportunity to meet you before or after worship. And please do not hesitate to reach out and ask us anything about our services or ministries.
HOW CAN I GROW IN MY FAITH AND BE DISCIPLED?
At Morningview, we are growing together by seeking to faithfully do the ordinary things that have sustained God’s people for generations. We study the Bible together. We worship together. We learn each other’s names and carry each another’s burdens. We pray together. We work to maintain bonds of loving, biblical accountability. We live life together.
If you want to grow in your faith, you need the community of a local church committed to the Bible and to one another. If you are not engaged in local church, we encourage you to find a strong one close to you and get connected to the body of Christ- the church.
